Blend
Barbera (100%), HILLTOPS
Season
The 2024-25 growing season was temperate, with average spring and summer rain followed by a dry autumn, resulting in great ripening conditions.
Viticulture
The Overland is made from barbera grown on deep granitic loam in the Hilltops region. With very good vine health, the grapes developed beautiful flavour, tannin and acidity consistent with this native Piemontese variety.
Winemaking
The grapes were harvested at around 13.0 Baumé. Fermentation took place in open fermenters which were worked to extract flavour and tannin. Parcels went through a malolactic fermentation and ageing in seasoned French oak. Blending and bottling took place in August/September 2025.
Taste
Lifted and concentrated aromas of ripe plum and dark forest fruits, yield to a supple and fruit-driven palate, with a lick of fine-grain tannin to close. For early consumption, or medium-term cellaring.
